Homemade Fig Perserve

Best homemade fig preserve ever! Serve with morning toast or for kids lunches! Better than store bought!

Ingredients

7-10 fresh figs

1 tsp lemon zest

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

3 tbsp honey

1/4 c Raw cane sugar/granulated sugar

Directions

1Remove stems

2Quarter figs

3Add all the ingredients to a pot

4Simmer on low heat

5Occasionally push down with spoon to mash figs

6Cook for 7-10 minutes and then reduce to low heat for another 7-10 min

7Stop cooking until desired texture is achieved

8Store in sterilized mason jars or jam jars
